BPD: Woman did crack, hallucinated

BLANCHESTER — A Blanchester woman was arrested and charged with aggravated menacing after a bizarre incident Sunday night.

According to Police Chief Scott Reinbolt, at around 10:30 p.m. police were called to the apartment complex at 903 E. Cherry Street on a report of a woman with a knife acting erratically. Officers arrived and reported they observed Jessica Foster, 26, of that address in the parking lot running in circles yelling about someone being a devil worshipper. Foster had blood on her clothing, Reinbolt said.

Officers spoke with another resident of the complex, who stated Foster came to her door with a knife and threatened to stab her before the resident called 911, Reinbolt said.

“Ptl. Jeffers and Ptl. Sherwood, I am happy to report, were able to subdue Foster without the use of force,” Reinbolt said. “Once she was subdued she was searched and it was determined that she no longer had a knife on her person. She told the officers she had ingested crack cocaine earlier in the evening. She had superficial cuts on her forearm which are believed to have been self inflicted.

“The knife used to threaten (the other resident) was found inside Foster’s apartment. Foster was having hallucinations making her believe that a number of people were present in the empty parking lot attempting to harm her,” Reinbolt added.

He said Foster’s cuts were treated at the scene by ambulance personnel, she was placed under arrest for aggravated menacing, and taken to the Clinton County Jail.

Foster has a lengthy criminal record dating back to 2008, Reinbolt said. She will answer the current charge in the Clinton County Municipal Court.
