Float’s focus on veterans’ suicides

VFW Post 6710 Auxiliary President Melissa Stevens said their float this year in the Corn Festival parade was focused on the prevention of suicide by our nation’s military veterans. An average of about 22 veterans commit suicide each day. Veterans can call 988, then press 1 to speak with someone at the Veterans Crisis Line, or text 838255.Veteranscrisisline.net is also an excellent source of information. Those resources are also available for family and friends of someone needing support to call or text.
