Nicely graduates from USAF basic

Air Force Airman Richard L. Nicely graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. He completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. He earned distinction as an honor graduate.

Nicely is currently attending AIT (Advanced Individual Training) for Aircraft Armament Systems for the F-22 Raptor. He will graduate Aug 26 and then proceed to his job station for a minimum of three years.

The airman graduated in 2013 from Blanchester High School. He is the son of Mandy and Scott Nicely and the brother Christopher Conan Nicely of Midland.

Goodwin family reunion upcoming

The annual reunion of the descendants of William, Rufus and Grant Goodwin will be held on Sunday, August 16th at the picnic grounds on the Goodwin Family Farms, located on SR 123 near Blackhawk. The carry-in lunch will begin at 1PM and all family members are urged to attend. Members are also urged to bring any family photos from the past, for an afternoon of sharing and reminiscing.
