More locals caught ‘green-handed’ recycling properly by CC SWMD

Buster the Mouse and Erin Hartsock from the Clinton County Solid Waste Management District recently “busted” Virginia Saville of the Sabina area putting proper recyclables into the community drop-off recycling containers next to the Sabina Public Pool at 449 S. Jackson St.

Virginia is a long-time recycler and has her system down to a science. She skips using bags entirely — she knows how bad plastic bags are for the comingled recycling program. Instead of bagging her recyclables, Virginia cut a 2.5-gallon water jug in half to collect her household recyclables for transport to the drop-off.

For her efforts in practicing the 3-Rs, Virginia received a recycled-content prize pack.

Thank you, Virginia Saville, for your ingenuity in keeping plastic bags out of the drop-off containers.

Buster and Erin also “busted” Beverly Kidder of the Sabina area putting proper recyclables into those same drop-off recycling containers in Sabina.

Beverly has been recycling over 10 years. She knows her individual efforts make a difference, but for her, it’s a family effort — both she and her sister are avid recyclers.

For her efforts in practicing the 3-Rs, she also received a recycled-content prize pack.

Thank you, Beverly, for your ingenuity in keeping plastic bags out of the drop-off containers.

Don’t miss out on your chance to win great prizes by simply recycling household items such as bottles, jars, cans and newspapers at one of the six Clinton County Drop-off locations.

Be on the lookout: You could be the next person caught green-handed!
