BLANCHESTER — Blanchester police officers continue to follow leads in Friday’s bank robbery at Peoples Bank at 125 W. Main Street, Police Chief Scott Reinbolt said Wednesday.

The $1,000 reward remains unclaimed. To date the investigation has consumed in excess of 70 police man-hours, Reinbolt said.

“A pick-up truck seen repeatedly in the area of the bank around the time of the robbery has been identified as a 1999-2004 Ford F-150 XLT crew cab by representatives of the Ford Motor Company,” Reinbolt said. “We appreciate the help of Castrucci Ford in Milford for their help in this process.”

No other information has been forthcoming regarding the vehicle, which may or may not be related to the robbery.

Reinbolt said the Cincinnati Police Department loaned the BPD a sketch artist Tuesday “who was able to create the attached image of the bank robber from witness descriptions,” he said. “We are extremely grateful to the Cincinnati Police for lending this assistance.”

Evidence collected at the scene of the robbery was transported to the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification laboratory in London.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact the police department at 937-783-4702. Those wishing to establish a claim to the reward money must provide their name and phone number in order to assure the correct person receives the reward, which will be paid to anyone providing information leading to the arrest and conviction of any person responsible for this crime, Reinbolt said.
