COLUMBUS—State Senator Bob Peterson (R-Washington Court House) recently announced the approval of state funding to expand Ohio’s 2-1-1 health hotline network to Clinton County.

Currently, 91 percent of Ohio’s population can call 2-1-1 to reach health and human services information. Trained specialists working 24 hours a day connect callers to health service providers, financial assistance, volunteer opportunities and updated information on disaster preparedness.

“The introduction of the 2-1-1 to Clinton County is long overdue,” said Peterson. “I’m happy to announce that soon, an extensive network of health-related information and resources will only be a phone call away.”

Peterson currently serves on the state’s Controlling Board, which approved today the $200,000 request to expand 2-1-1 services to both Clinton and Warren counties. The expansion project falls under the umbrella of the 2-1-1 Ohio Collaborative, an initiative spearheaded by the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) to establish call centers in every Ohio county to improve local access to health and human service resources.
