CLARKSVILLE — Clinton-Massie High School announced recently that senior Callianna VanPelt has been selected as a recipient for the Class of 2017 Honda-OSU Math Medal Award.

In June of 2016, high school principals, guidance counselors and math teachers in central and southwest Ohio nominated their best math students from the Class of 2017 for award consideration. After a lengthy selection process, VanPelt was selected as an award recipient for her academic commitment and her excellence in the study of mathematics.

The Honda-OSU Partnership is an academic-industry partnership that supports programs in education, research and public service that positively impact the transportation industry.

VanPelt will gather with other Math Medal winners at the Southwest Ohio Regional Award Ceremony Oct. 29 at the GE Aviation Learning Center in Cincinnati.

In addition to the Math Medal Award, up to 20 $3,000 scholarships are awarded annually to math medal recipients interested in attending the Ohio State University College of Engineering.
