Enroll for Laurel Oaks Preschool

Enrollment is now open for preschoolers age 3-5 at Laurel Oaks Career Campus for the 2015-2016 school year.

All children must be three years old by Sept. 30, 2015 and must be potty-trained.

Preschool classes will be Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9-11 a.m. or 12:30-2:30 p.m. starting Oct. 13.

Children in Laurel Oaks Preschool classes are taught by a licensed teacher, assisted by students from the Early Childhood Education program.

“Preschool students benefit from the individualized attention our trained students give,” said instructor Mary Ann Horne.

Art exhibit Saturday in Murphy Studios

WILMINGTON — A grand opening art exhibit titled “It’s A Wild World” is set for Saturday, Aug. 22 in the Murphy Studios above the Murphy Theatre.

Presented by Once In a Blue Moon Studio and artist Jennifer Steele, the event will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday.

Light refreshments will be served.

In mid-July, artists Peytie Stryker and Mary Beth Thorngren held a similar event featuring paintings and sculptures at Thorngren Studio Arts in the Murphy Studios.

The Murphy Theatre is located at 50 W. Main St. in downtown Wilmington.
