WILMINGTON — A record 84 young girls from the community spent last Thursday evening being pretty as princesses at Wilmington College’s Delta Theta Sigma Lil Sis sorority’s fifth annual Princess Party.

The sorority members helped adorn the girls in trappings of royalty complete with gowns , tiaras, crowns, make-up, hairstyles and colorful capes. It was all for a good cause as donations from this year’s activities of more than $200 and dozens of books, toys and craft items will all go to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.

Alicia Gifford, a WC junior and DTS Lil Sis vice president, coordinated the record-setting event.

“We were truly blessed to have such a turnout of community members that were willing to help us make a difference for the children and families whose lives are touched by Cincinnati Children’s Hospital,” she said.

Party activities also included nail painting, coloring, face-painting, making crowns, story time, photographs and collecting prizes from Rapunzel’s Tower.

DTS Lil Sis is following the Princess Party with a Superhero Party for young boys and girls Nov. 1, from 6 to 8 p.m., in the McCoy Room of Kelly Center.
