Members of the inaugural class of Court-Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteers in Clinton County took their oaths this week at a ceremony in the Clinton County Juvenile Courtroom. The special advocates will present information to a judge that helps judges make informed decisions about the future of abused or neglected children. In the right foreground, Clinton County Juvenile Court Judge Chad L. Carey administers the oath to the four women who completed 30 hours of training in donated space at SFM Insurance. They are, from left, Kathy Vincent, Elizabeth Biggane, Diana Groves and Barbara Glass. A second class of CASA trainees will be formed after Jan. 1. If interested, Clinton County CASA Director Kim Vandervort can be reached at 937-383-1137. Carey said the newly appointed CASA volunteers merit a commendation for the work they will perform.
