Blan chamber bestows awards

The Blanchester Area Chamber of Commerce held its 61st Annual Dinner Tuesday at Blanchester High School. This year’s award winners were (pictured): Jim Johnson, retired Blanchester school teacher, for community choice award; businesswoman of the year, Rachel Akers, owner of Impact Salon; citizen of the year, Dan Reed, owner of R&R Tool; and businessman of the year, Russ Kidd, owner of Kidd’s Excavating. Service awards were given to six chamber members for serving three years on the board — Lisa Beach, Kari Dixon, Dean Lynch, Dave Snell, Jim Burton and Leigh Jones. New board members that will be starting a three-year term on the board were also recognized — Wendy Ogden West, Celia Medley, Chris Boyd, Rhonda Hauke and Dwayne Dearth.
