A good crowd attended the first adoption event, along with an open house, Sunday at the new facility of the Wilmington Area Humane Society on US 68 North near I-71. Several dogs and cats found their forever homes Sunday, including Carmen, a mini pin chihuahua shown with new family Lorelei Rigney, 3, and parents Brittiny and Keith Rigney of New Vienna. The new facility features two large adoption rooms, a cat room, dedicated laundry and bathing rooms, and each dog has its own inside/outside room.
