BLANCHESTER —A Blanchester man was arrested after police say he tried to enter a home that wasn’t his residence.

On Sunday evening, Nov. 13, Blanchester Police were called to 211 E. Cherry St. where a woman reported a man trying to enter her home. According to Police Chief Scott Reinbolt, the woman stated a man walked up to the back door of her house while she was standing outside as if he intended to walk right in. She said she ran him off and went into the house, only to hear the same man shaking the door knob of the front door.

An officer located the man at the corner of Cherry and Columbus streets and he was identified as Aaron Stannus, 44, of 209 E. Cherry St. “Stannus appeared to be under the influence of some intoxicant, was unsteady on his feet and unable to communicate clearly,” said Reinbolt.

He was arrested and charged with criminal trespass and taken to the Clinton County Jail, Reinbolt said. He will answer the charge in the Clinton County Municipal Court.
