Members of the Clinton County Solid Waste District attended the Blanchester School Board meeting on Monday night to give a brief demonstration to the board members on how participating in a school recycling program can save the school district money. Using a few props and some recyclable materials, Jeff Walls (Coordinator for the Solid Waste District) told the board, “We can show you how discontinuing a currently successful recycling program can actually cost the district money instead of cutting costs. Following the demonstration, Walls and Dori Bishop (Education Specialist) gave special recognition to three teachers that have all been instrumental in starting a school recycling program and improving the program to a co-mingled program that is now in place at the high school and middle school. Teachers recognized were Sara Landrum and Georgette McClain from the high school and Sara Nicholls from the middle school.
