CMHS senior an Eagle Scout

Alexander J. Hudson celebrated earning his Eagle Scout rank Jan. 15 with a Court of Honor ceremony held in the Clinton-Massie High School Auditeria. The ceremony was presided over by Assistant Scoutmaster Terry Newsome.

Alex is a member of Troop 999, Scoutmaster Jay Land, sponsored by Friendship Baptist Church in Harveysburg. Alex has held the troop positions of senior patrol leader, troop guide, and librarian.

To earn his Eagle Scout rank Alex had to complete 21 merit badges and an Eagle Scout project that involved leadership and community service. His project benefitted Pioneer Village in Caesar Creek State Park.

He rebuilt a storage shelter by putting on a new metal roof donated by Higgins in Hillsboro, building a side wall and adding a gravel base. He also built eight benches with wood donated by Kibler Lumber in Wilmington.

Alex is a senior at Clinton-Massie High School where is a member of the National Honor Society and Key Club. He also participates in soccer, cross country, track and the academic team. He is a member of Olive Branch United Methodist Church in Oregonia.

Alex is the son of Matt and Amy Hudson and the brother of Allison and Bailey Hudson. He plans to study sports management in college.

His goal is to work for a professional sports team or for the National Park Service.
