BLANCHESTER — A Blanchester Local Schools student-athlete was struck in the face during baseball practice about 4:30 p.m. Friday.
The athlete was speaking and coherent afterward, reported Blanchester Local Schools Superintendent Dean Lynch, who went to the scene.
The student was hit in the eye area, added Lynch.
A medical helicopter transported the student to Miami Valley Hospital to be checked out.
The police scanner said the victim was hit by a baseball.
The student’s mother was reportedly at the scene.
