County offers playgroup opportunities

For many years, the Clinton County Board of Developmental Disabilities had offered a Toddler Class for young children who received Early Intervention services, and encouraged playtime activities with their parents and peers. During that time, the children and parents actively participated in open play, social skill development, crafts, reading books and singing songs.

In recent months, several agencies representing Early Intervention, Help Me Grow, and 4C’s came together to promote play groups in various locations throughout Clinton County. We now encourage all young children birth through age two and their parents who may be interested to join the play groups. This is a fun way to interact all while enhancing learning experiences.

The 4C’s offers a play group called Play and Learn at the Wilmington Public Library on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month from 10:30 a.m.-noon in the lower level meeting room.

Another play group meets on the first Thursday of each month at varying locations in the county from 10-11:30 a.m. Their first Play Group of March will be at the Sensory Spot located at 1682 Alex Drive (Littleton’s Respiratory Home Care) in Wilmington. In April, an Easter/spring themed play group will be held at the Clinton County Health Department Annex Community room located at 111 S. Nelson Ave., also in Wilmington.

For future dates and locations, check out the Social Events page in the Wilmington News Journal, find us on Facebook Clinton County Help Me Grow Central Coordination Clinton County Help Me Grow Central Coordination or call (937) 382-5899. We look forward to seeing you there!
