Rotary learns about CCYC

Eric Guindon recently spoke to the A.M. Rotary Club about the Clinton County Youth Council (CCYC). He is the program director for the organization, located in the old Main Building at 302 W. Sugartree St., Wilmington. Their vision for this after-school program for students in grades 6-12 is to help youth make healthy choices by providing safe shelter, a daily snack or meal, academic support and mentoring opportunities. Several volunteers offer assistance, one being Diane Murphy, who shows the students how to cook a meal from scratch – no microwave! This program is funded by the United Way and also through donations. Additional funding is needed for transportation, and they need $10,000 to keep the program open in the summer months. Leadership Clinton class of 2017 has planned a disc golf scramble for Saturday, April 22 at 302 W. Sugartree St. Required equipment will be furnished. Eric Guindon, shown with Rotarian Fadi Al-Ghawi, can be reached at [email protected] or 937-728-3523.
