Master Feed Mill under new ownership

WILMINGTON — Matt Cosler is the new owner of Wilmington’s Master Feed Mill on Owens Avenue. The Wilmington native and 2009 graduate of Wilmington College had been an employee of Master and his family had been customers.

Cosler said he looks forward to the new things coming to the feed, chemical, seed and costume applications business.

“It feels good and really exciting,” he said. “We’ve got a lot of news things in agriculture in general, industry-wide there’s a lot taking place right now. New things that we’re willing to partake in and we’re excited for the opportunity to proceed as an independent company. There aren’t as many that cater to family farming the way we do.”

His father Charlie, who used to work at Master Feed Mill, is happy to see his oldest son take ownership.

“I’m very glad to see this and how he’s helped Mark (Dome) grow the business,” he said.

Mark Dome’s family owned Master since his father establishment it in 1959. Mark himself owned it since 2008 but decided that now is the right time to sell.

“It all just kind of came together,” said Dome. “I have full confidence in Matt. He’s worked for me, he’s done a great job.”

Dome still plans to stop by and help out when he can, but for his retirement, he’s planning on taking a few trips in his new motorhome.
