XENIA — Police are trying to figure out what caused a man to die in a wooded area on South Galloway Friday, March 31.

According to Capt. Alonzo Wilson, a man was walking his dog around 10 a.m. when he found the body face down. After trying to provide aid, the man called police.

There was no sign of foul play or drugs, but police are treating it as suspicious, according to Wilson.

“We really don’t have a lot of information right now of what caused him to pass away,” he said. “We’re having trouble identifying him as well.”

The deceased is caucasian, approximately 20 to 30 years old.

The Greene County Coroner’s Office was on the scene and will work to identify the person as well as complete an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

Wilson said if anyone has a family member missing, they can call dispatch at 937-372-9901.
