Dave Yost, Auditor of the State of Ohio, will be the keynote speaker at the Clinton County Republican Fall Picnic Monday, Sept. 21.

The auditor made the news in August with an audit catching a former Tecumseh Local Schools superintendent gambling away more than $34,000 of the school’s money. The superintendent was later sentenced to six months in jail, five years probation and restitution.

Yost is the 32nd state auditor. He graduated from The Ohio State University with a B.A. degree in Journalism. He became an award-winning journalist with the Columbus Citizen-Journal. He then earned a Juris Doctor from Capital University Law School.

While operating a successful private law practice, Yost was appointed Delaware County Auditor in 1999. In 2003, he became the Delaware County Prosecutor where he won the first-ever capital murder case in the county’s history and successfully prosecuted the largest drug ring to ever operate in Delaware County.

Yost and his wife, Darlene, live in Franklin County. They have three children and three grandchildren.

The Republican picnic will be held at the Clinton County Fairgrounds Expo Center on Monday, Sept. 21 at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are still available; please contact Jeff Linkous at (937) 302 0993 if you wish to attend.
