WILMINGTON — The New Life Clinic hosted its annual Walk for Life on Saturday, one of several fundraising events for the pregnancy resource center in downtown Wilmington.

With 365 registered walkers and $59,780 collected, this year’s Walk broke all previous records.

Organizers had set a goal to raise $50,000, increasing the number from last year’s goal of $45,000. Staff and board members were pleased with the outpouring of community support.

“God is good and He is surely up to something!” said Sherry Weller, Executive Director. “We have such an amazing community and are proud to stand with those who value life and the work of the New Life Clinic.”

The morning began with beautiful, sunny skies and a crowd of enthusiastic walkers spanning every age and church background. Dozens of local churches and community groups were represented and excited to take part, some even running the five-mile route.

Even a passing shower and high winds hitting Wilmington when the majority of walkers were rounding their third mile did not deter the group. The walkers and runners pressed on, forging their way back to the Wilmington Church of Christ for hot dogs, prizes and fellowship.

The New Life Clinic thanks all those who participated, as well as the numerous business and church sponsors. For a complete listing of community sponsors, visit the organization’s website at www.newlifesupport.org.

Donations are still being accepted at New Life Clinic, 100 S. South St., Wilmington, OH 45177.
