BLANCHESTER — Blanchester was a place of Pure Imagination last weekend as its drama club put on their production of Willy Wonka.
The musical — under the direction of Robin Fille, Suneeta Holtkamp, Sarah Landrum and David Wood — was a huge success, as it drew in crowds of young and old alike.
Blanchester further emulated Roald Dahl’s work by having a golden ticket of their own. On show nights — both of which sold out — a golden ticket was hidden in a single Wonka bar. With prizes including tickets to Playhouse in The Park and gift certificates, both the performance and the contest allowed for a simple high school to be transformed into a magnificent chocolate factory.
As the audience left both nights with positive reviews, one can only wait to see what Blanchester has in store for its coming productions.
