WILMINGTON — Dogs and their persons got in a stroll between showers Sunday in the 12th annual Wilmington College Veterinarians of Tomorrow Dog Walk to benefit the Wilmington Area Humane Society (WAHS).

Wilmington College students have hosted this charitable benefit which has become a spring tradition for both people and their canine friends. The walk followed the 4-C Bicentennial Trail and the course is approximately 2.6 miles.

The Veterinarians of Tomorrow is a Wilmington College student organization for those who hope to work with animals in the future.

The Wilmington Area Humane Society is an all-volunteer nonprofit formed to promote the welfare of dogs and cats in Clinton County and to provide programs to the residents of this area to nurture and strengthen the human/animal bond.

In October 2016 it moved into a new shelter located at 5312 US 68 North, Wilmington, which houses adoptable cats and dogs.

For more information about WAHS, or if you would like to make a donation or volunteer, visit www.adoptapet.com/wahs.
