Several firsts at state for EC FFA

COLUMBUS — The East Clinton FFA Chapter recently traveled to Columbus for the 89th Annual State FFA Convention.

The first session began on Thursday, May 4 and continued until Friday evening.

The East Clinton FFA Chapter was well accomplished this year. Starting off with state proficiency finalists, they had to be interviewed after filling out an extensive application.

Victoria Jamison won first in her Wildlife Production Proficiency, Marissa Williams won first in Landscaping and second in Equine placement, Nathan Stewart was first in Agriculture Processing, and Cassie Parks finished second in Goat Production.

The first-place finalists will be moving on to compete at Nationals over the summer.

East Clinton also received three CDE banners for their accomplishments throughout the year. The Dairy Cattle Judging team placed fourth in the state, Milk Quality & Products team was fifth in the state, along with the Cooperative Education team which placed fifth in the state.

The final event the East Clinton FFA Chapter participated in was the earning of 12 state degrees.

The chapter was able to bond over the course of a few days and went to many activities outside of the convention. Thank you to everyone who made this convention possible.
