Wolary Art Academy graduate

Katelyn M. Wolary of Cincinnati graduated May 13 from the Art Academy of Cincinnati with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Illustration and a minor in Creative Writing. She is a 2013 Wilmington High School grad.

She graduated Summa Cum Laude and was Valedictorian of her class, presenting her valedictory address to the Art Academy’s board, president, graduates and guests.

She will begin her career as a working artist with Artonomy, an art design and consulting services company in Cincinnati. She is also recipient of a teaching assistantship at the Art Academy of Cincinnati and she will begin as a TA for a painting class in fall 2017.

Joy graduates from BGSU

Grant C. Joy of New Vienna graduated magna cum laude from Bowling Green State University May 6 with a Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in American Culture Studies and History. He was a member of Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society.

Joy is a 2013 graduate of East Clinton High School and the son of Carol and John Joy of New Vienna.

US 68 closure slated

Culvert repairs require closing US R68 for five days beginning Monday, May 22.

Beginning at 7 a.m. Monday, May 22, US68 will be closed south of State Route 350, between Macedonia and Second Creek roads until 3 p.m. Friday, May 26. Traffic will be detoured using SR 28, SR 134 and SR 350.

Arrow boards and/or signs will be in place to alert motorists of the upcoming work zone and road closure.

To help ensure the safety of the construction workers as well as the traveling public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed and watch for stopped traffic while passing through the work zone.
