Judge hands down justice in municipal court

WILMINGTON — The following report is compiled using a disposition report provided by Clinton County Municipal Court. The information includes the defendant’s name, age, residence if listed, charge(s) disposed, fine, court costs assessed, jail sentence and any special conditions. Municipal Judge Mike Daugherty oversees the court, which administers the law in criminal misdemeanor cases.

The following pled guilty or were found guilty between May 1 and May 5:

• Shaylyn McCoy, 20, of Hillsboro, O.V.I., sentenced to 90 days in jail, operator’s license suspended from April 2, 2017 to Nov. 1, 2017, fined $1,075, assessed $125 court costs. Jail time stayed to allow the defendant to complete a three-day residential driving intervention program; if compliant court will suspend $500 of fine. Driving privileges granted effective May 16, 2017. ALS vacated.

• Brian Calland, 21, of Columbus, reckless operation, 30 days in jail (suspended), fined $100, assessed $125 court costs. Calland will take part in non-reporting probation for two years. ALS vacated. The charge was amended from an O.V.I. charge. An O.V.I./breath low and a stop sign violation were dismissed.

• Kyle Bean, 27, of Sabina, reckless operation, sentenced to 30 days in jail (20 days suspended), fined $250, assessed $125 court costs. The charge was amended from an O.V.I. charge. Bean will take part in two years of non-reporting probation. ALS vacated. A traffic central light charge was dismissed.

• Stanley Irwin, 40, of Wilmington, driving without consent, possession of drugs, trespassing, fined $150, assessed $125 court costs. Irwin is to have no contact with victims or their residency. Irwin will pay fines only for driving and drug possession charges. A stop sign violation and going 66 in a 55 mph speed zone were dismissed.

• William Roberts, 36, of Wilmington, O.V.I., sentenced to 90 days in jail, operator’s license suspended from May 4, 2017 to Nov. 3, 2017, fined $1,075, assessed $125 court costs. Robert must take part in supervised probation. Roberts will complete a three-day residential driving intervention program; if compliant court will suspend $500 of the fine. ALS vacated, driving privileges granted effectively May 19, 2017. Operator’s license to be destroyed. A seat belt violation and failure to control charge were dismissed.

• Troy Henry, 43, of Wilmington, hit skip, sentenced to 30 days in jail (suspended), fined $100, assessed $125 court costs. The defendant shall commit no similar offense for two years and take part in non-reporting probation.

• James Ramsey III, 25, of Cincinnati, going 94 in a 70 mph speed zone, fined $105, assessed $125 court costs. The case was waived by the defendant.

• Chad Reynolds, 35, of Wilmington, driving under suspension, fined $75, assessed $125 court costs. A turn signal violation was dismissed.

• Paul Conger, 32, of Wilmington, possession of drug abuse instruments, sentenced to 90 days in jail (64 days suspended), fined $750, assessed $125 court costs. Conger will take part in a supervised probation if the compliant court will suspend $500 of fine. A seatbelt violation was dismissed.

• Mark Cope, 41, of Blanchester, assault, sentenced to 21 days in jail, assessed $125 court costs. Cope will pay costs only.

• Justin Bivens, 25, of Lexington, drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, going 89 in a 70 mph speed zone, fined $230, assessed $375. The cases were waived by the defendant.

• Brian Mountjoy, 39, of Chillicothe, theft, possession of drug instruments, sentenced to 120 days in jail (108 days suspended), fined $600, assessed $250 court costs. Mountjoy will take part in supervised probation.

• Rhonda Shultz, 49, of Wilmington, drug paraphernalia, sentenced to 30 days in jail (suspended), fined $100, assessed $125 court costs. The charge was amended from a dangerous drugs charge. Shultz must complete two years of non-reporting probation.

• Joey Martin, 26, of Sardinia, possession of drug instruments, sentenced to 90 days in jail (suspended), fined $750, assessed $125 court costs. Martin will take part in supervised probation if compliant will suspend $500 of fine.

• Tabatha Adkins, 44, of Wilmington, theft, sentenced to 30 days in jail (suspended), fined $250, assessed $125 court costs. Adkins must write a letter of apology to the victim, must have no contact with them, and have no similar offenses and take part in non-reporting probation for two years.

• Joshua Jones, 22, of Wilmington, possession of marijuana, fined $25. Jones will pay fines only.

• La Toshawa Hill, 26, of Wilmington, disorderly conduct, fined $100, assessed $125 court costs.

• Justin Abrams, 26, of London, drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, fined $200, assessed $250 court costs. Both cases were waived by the defendant.

• Robert Stackman, 46, of Sabina, driving under suspension, fined $75, assessed $125 court costs.

• Johnny Dobson, 44, of Indianapolis, Ind., going 97 in a 70 mph speed zone, fined $105, assessed $125 court costs. The case was waived by the defendant.

• Steve Bennett, 36, of Martinsville, driving under suspension-financial, going 62 in a 55 mph speed zone, find $125, assessed $250 court costs.

• William Oliver, 30, of Hillsboro, driving under suspension-failure to appear/pay fine, assessed $125 court costs. Oliver will pay costs only.

• Steven Garen, 42, of New Vienna, reckless operation, sentenced to 30 days in jail, fined $500, assessed $125 court costs. The charge was amended from an O.V.I. charge. Operator’s license to be returned to the defendant. ALS vacated.

• Michael Muto, Sr., 48, of Wilmington, complicity, sentenced to 30 days in jail (suspended), fined $100, assessed $125 court costs. Muto is to have no contact with the victim and complete 16 hours of community service.

• Bruce Lee, 46, of Wilmington, disorderly conduct, fined $50, assessed $125 court costs. The charge was amended from a violation of protection order charge.

• Tammy Cole, 39, of Wilmington, child endangerment, assessed $125 court costs. Cole will pay costs only and must commit no offenses for the rest of 2017.

• Davis Brown, 18, of Alexandria, going 90 in a 70 mph speed zone., fined $105, assessed $125 court costs. The case was waived by the defendant.

• Todd Collins, 42, of Wilmington, going 91 in a 65 mph speed zone, fined $105, assessed $125 court costs. The case was waived by the defendant.

• Alexandra Ramsey, 20, of Cincinnati, underage consumption, assessed $175 court costs. The case was waived by the defendant.

• Jason Reno, 36, of Hillsboro, possession of marijuana, fined $100, assessed $125 court costs. The case was waived by the defendant.
