The East Clinton FFA recently held its annual Agricultural Day at Sabina Elementary School.
The event consisted of three events — safety demonstrations, a petting farm, and food from the field to the plate demonstrations.
Fifteen FFA members presented ag safety demonstrations in areas including ATV, tractor, general, animal, plant, first aid, fire and chemical safety. The first graders enjoyed the presentations.
After that they held a petting farm in which 31 members brought animals or presented about the safety of the animals. They had goats, cows, sheep, a dog, a chicken, turkeys, a hog, a rabbit, and a horse at the petting farm. The elementary students really enjoyed being able to interact with the animals.
The FFA members also described to the first-grade classes on how the food comes from the field and ends up on the table for us to eat.
After the completion of the Ag Day, three students helped clean-up our section of State Route 729 in the Adopt-A-Highway program.
