The original story follows:

Western Water issued a boil advisory today for all its customers south of State Route 73.

Kurt Meeker, field supervisor, said there were no concerns for customers north of State Route 73.

“It’s precautionary,” Meeker said. “We don’t anticipate a bacteria problem, but a water main broke and it affected a lot of people. We just want to make sure no one has a problem.”

Western Water serves Vernon, Adams, Washington, Liberty and Chester Townships and includes the Village of Clarksville but not the village of Blanchester, which has its own water service.

Western Water will notify users when the boil water advisory expires.
