WILMINGTON — Two building principals with Amelia schools will join the Wilmington City Schools leadership team, as reported this week.

Comments and photographs have been obtained from new Wilmington High School Principal Stephanie N. Walker (who has been Amelia High School principal for three years), and new Wilmington Middle School Principal Norbert “Bert” J. Martini (who has been Amelia Middle School principal for three years).

“I can’t begin to explain the excitement that I have in joining the Wilmington High School Family,” Walker said.

She added, “As principal, I strive to be a champion for children. It is my goal to know every child by name and need while working to remove barriers to learning. I want all students to find their place, build confidence and reach their personal and academic goals.”

“I am excited to get to work, meet students, parents and staff. Simply put, I look forward to falling in love with the Wilmington community,” said Walker.

Martini said, “I am very excited to be a part of Wilmington City Schools. The opportunity to be a part of this close-knit community along with the excellent leadership in the schools made it an easy decision to accept this position as middle school principal.”

Details about the backgrounds of Walker and Martini were included in a Wednesday print edition News Journal report.

Amelia schools will combine this fall with Glen Este schools.
