WARREN COUNTY — A man with local ties was killed in a two-vehicle accident at about 11 a.m. Monday in Clearcreek Township in Warren County.

According to Clearcreek Police Chief John Terrell, an SUV driven by Danny Woody (no age given) of Clearcreek Township was traveling on State Route 73 when he attempted to turn onto Bunnell Hill Road.

A motorcyclist traveling on SR 73, Jeremiah Delawder, 35, of Moraine, Ohio attempted to avoid the SUV by doing a slide maneuver with the motorcycle, but he was struck by the SUV, Terrell said. He was transported via helicopter to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, but he died from the injuries.

Delawder, according to his Facebook page, was a U.S. Army veteran who went to Clinton-Massie High School; the page lists him as living in Wilmington.

The police chief said that the accident remains under investigation and it will be determined later if Woody will face charges. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
