Sabina congregation eyes move

Sabina Church of Christ Minister Troy Villars looks around at the gymnasium that will be part of the church’s new building currently under construction on South College Street in Sabina. In addition to gym purposes (including serving as the site for the East Clinton Youth basketball program), the room also will be utilized for church dinners and, accordingly, is located just off the kitchen. A sanctuary for worship services will be a separate room that can seat up to 428. The sanctuary will feature a big raised platform that can double as a stage for Christian plays and possibly for dinner-theater as a community outreach, said Villars. There is a large gathering area (lobby space), and a conference room that a counselor plans to use part-time for appointments. The new facility has children and adult classrooms, offices and additional space. A dedication ceremony is planned for Sunday, Sept. 17, but there may be services there before that, Villars said.

This is the front of the new Sabina Church of Christ building that will become the new home for the congregation in a couple months. A carport and the front entrance can be seen on the right side.
