Senior learn at Awareness Fair

The Wilmington Savings Bank Clinton County Senior Center held its 9th Annual Senior Awareness Fair on Friday, June 16.

Joan Burge, chairperson of the event, welcomed everyone and introduced the guest speaker for the afternoon, Maribeth Bevis.

Bevis spoke on the importance to senior citizens of exercise and the benefits derived from maintaining an active lifestyle. She also engaged the crowd with a few audience participation exercises.

As part of her activities at the Senior Center, Bevis teaches the Silver Sneakers Flex Fitness and Senior Stretch classes.

Upon the conclusion of her presentation, Burge invited the attendees to tour the facility, visit the information booths and enjoy the refreshments provided.

Twenty-two local vendors participated in the Senior Awareness Fair and 96 people were in attendance.
