Zombies help food pantry

0

A zombie walk to benefit the Clinton County Community Action food pantry was held Saturday evening at Xidas Park and the Escape bar at West Sugartree Street and South South Street. Participants donated either $5 or five cans of food. The event also included live music by APT. B, plus Chazziz DJ Service, a 50/50 drawing and a silent auction. Shown are some of the zombies from the Wilmington Haunted Hollow Ride which runs from Sept. 16 through Oct. 28 — visit www.wilmingtonhauntedhollowride.com. Also instrumental in planning and making the event a success were Dave Hurst with Final Resting Place Haunted Junkyard — finalrestingplace.com — which starts the last weekend of September and runs Friday and Saturday nights through October, as well as Sparky Spinks and Brian Gantz and all of the generous sponsors and donors. This is the second time for this event and Hurst said the turnout was great and it brought in a lot of canned food and donations for the pantry.
