Authorities avert planned riot at Warren County Jail

LEBANON, Ohio — A riot that was planned at the Warren County Jail late Tuesday afternoon was thwarted before it happened due to swift response from authorities, according to a press release from the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.

At approximately 5:50 p.m. corrections officers of the jail received information of a planned riot by inmates.

“A swift response from local law enforcement including the Lebanon, Mason and Morrow police departments, Warren County Sheriff’s deputies and the jail’s Emergency Response Team brought the incident to conclusion before there was any act of violence,” according to the sheriff’s office.

The Warren County Jail holds 280 inmates at all levels of incarceration.
