August was proclaimed Child Support Awareness Month in Clinton County at an event in the Job & Family Services (JFS) lobby where staff gathered. A unit of JFS is the Child Support Enforcement Agency. According to the wording in the county commissioners’ proclamation, there are about 3,330 child support cases in the county. The unit ranks first in collection for non-public assistance cases, states the proclamation. The unit currently collects about 73 percent of current support orders, the highest ever for the agency. In conjunction with awareness month, Wednesday, Aug. 2 was “Wear Green to Work Day”.
