WILMINGTON — A bicyclist reportedly rode into a moving vehicle mid-afternoon Friday in downtown Wilmington, sending the bicycle driver to Clinton Memorial Hospital.

A male, age unknown, was riding a bike with a passenger as they traveled east on the sidewalk along East Locust Street, said Wilmington police officer Robert Wilson in a preliminary report at the scene. The light for Lincoln Street traffic was green, and a motorist headed northbound on Lincoln Street with the green light, Wilson said.

The bicycle ran into the motor vehicle, and the bicycle rider was transported by Wilmington Life Squad to CMH.

No other details were immediately available.
