BLANCHESTER — The start of a new school year brings with it all types of new possibilities for your child, but it also can bring worries for parents.

Will my child make friends? Will he or she be challenged? What if the teacher is too strict?

Sending your children back to school can be bittersweet, but educational thought leader Jen Molitor has some tips to help your child thrive this year. Please join her for 3 Easy Strategies for a Successful School Year at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 12, at the Blanchester Public Library.

Molitor will provide advice on how to get your child to talk about their day, homework breakthrough strategies that improve your child’s grades, and the No. 1 strategy to reduce anxiety and get your child to try new things.

Molitor works as a Gifted Intervention Specialist (K-5) at a local elementary school. She works with schools looking to accelerate student achievement using authentic, heart-based strategies to overcome the restrictions of time, testing, and tons of standards. She currently is working on her upcoming book, Connected Teaching.

The program is free and open to the public. Please contact the library at 937-783-3585 if you have any questions.
