Farmers market continues summer season

WILMINGTON — The Clinton County Farmers’ Market continues to features vendors who offer seasonal produce, homemade baked goods, home-crafted body products, herbs, and artisan crafts. All products sold at the Clinton County Farmers’ Market are locally home-grown or homemade within Clinton County or an adjunct county.

The Market is held in downtown Wilmington on Mulberry Street between Main and Locust streets, rain or shine every Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to noon with current plans for the market to continue through October.

One exception is this Saturday, Sept. 9 when the Market moves to the Mural on Main Street due to the Corn Festival Parade. Stop in at the Market before attending the Clinton County Corn Festival.

The Market has extended the “Double Your Snap Benefit Bucks” for SNAP recipients through the month of September.

How does it work? Stop in at the Market Booth to request the amount of the SNAP benefits a recipient wants to use at the Market. After entering appropriate information, the Market will doubt the amount up to $10 per market.

Also, the 2017 Clinton County Farmers Market Kids Club continues through Sept. 30. Each time a Kids Club member visits the Farmers Market, they will have their “membership card” stamped and receive two $1 vouchers for purchasing fresh vegetable and/or fruit.

Children are encouraged to become their own shoppers making selections of their favorite vegetable or fruit and to try something new.

For more information about the programs and the Market, please visit the Market Booth and talk with Sally or Kaity.
