Transportation topic at Blan school board

BLANCHESTER — Transportation was a talking point during Monday night’s Blanchester School Board meeting.

The first two transportation resolutions on the agenda passed — one involving certain students and one approving advertising for bus bids.

The first resolution declared that providing transportation for eight students was impractical. The resolution states that the students are residents of the school district and eligible for transportation services, but after “careful evaluation of all available options, it has been determined that it is impractical to provide transportation for these students to their selected school.”

Of the eight students, two go to St. Louis School in Owensville, three to St. Elizabeth Seton, two to Milford Christian Academy, and one to Children’s Meeting House.

The second transportation item approved by the board allows the Southwestern Ohio Educational Purchasing Council to advertise and receive bids for the purchase of a school bus.
