Cardboard City brings $11K+ for shelter

WILMINGTON — AM Rotary presented a check for $11,963 to the Clinton County Homeless Shelter Friday, in addition to several other presentations after a successful annual Cardboard City event, which is sponsored by Rotary.

The homeless shelter staff and board expressed its thanks to AM Rotary for giving its time, energy and resources to help the shelter each year. The shelter also thanked the Clinton County Commissioners for allowing the event to be held at the county courthouse the past three years — “the perfect venue”, the City of Wilmington and the police department for all their help, as well as many businesses and organizations including Ahresty & Associates, Cape May, Cornerstone Baptist Church, CVS, Edward Jones, Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, Generations Pizza, J&K Rentals, Kroger, PNC Bank, Wilmington Presbyterian Church, R&L Carriers, ServiceMaster, Sodexo-Wilmington College, Tony Morton, Wilmington City Schools Interact Club, Wilmington College students, Wilmington High School FFA, Wilmington News Journal and Wilmington United Methodist Church.

The Cardboard City Committee consists of Chair Sigrid Solomon, Fadi Al-Ghawi, Geoff Ganz, Bev and Dan Mayo, Top Popp, Brad Reynolds, Steve Roe, Jarrett Roush, John Stanforth, Rick Stanforth, Amber Stebbins, Denise Stryker, Amber Taylor and Chuck Watts.
