4 times around the Blanchester track

The Shaw Farms Pumpkin Run was held Saturday at the Blanchester High School campus consisting of four laps around the track — or one mile. The Putman Kids Run Club hosted and participated in the event. More than 80 of the K through third-grade enrollment at Putman Elementary School in the Blanchester school district were part of the run club whose culminating race was the Pumpkin Run. All students who completed the four laps received a medallion and a pumpkin to take home.

As a gift of appreciation, Putman Kids Run Club leader Rachael Thompson was presented a photograph of the group that included their signatures in the margins.

From left, Karlee Williams and Molly Barnes are ready to hear the words “Ready, set, go” now that they have their running numbers attached. It was chilly but the turnout was high Saturday for the Shaw Farms Pumpkin Run.
