The old Red Roosters left the farm and the old hens went on strike and quit laying eggs. There’s no chicken and noodles this year as the Lees Creek United Church of Christ has changed the menu for its Annual Election Day meals.

For well over 50 years the Lees Creek United Church of Christ has been serving chicken and noodle dinners and soup and sandwiches suppers on November’s Election Day. This year the fourth and fifth generations of the church families are still planning, preparing and serving the foods for the community. This eyar’s menu will be

Lunch 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.: Baked individual ham loaf, scalped potatoes, seasoned green beans, cole slaw, apple sauce, rolls, pie and beverage. Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children.

Dinner: Come back in the evening 5-7 p.m. for homemade soup and sandwiches and maybe there will be some noon meal leftovers. All foods at the evening meal are priced ala carte.

Carry-out meals will be available — call ahead between 9 and 11 a.m. to place carry-out orders for noon meal. The church telephone number is 937-584-4359.
