Downtown Wilmington set to HoliDazzle on Saturday

WILMINGTON — Thanksgiving weekend is packed with all your favorites like food, family, football — and on Saturday the traditional activities of the 11th annual HomeTown HoliDazzle celebration including the illuminated parade.

This year’s celebration is bigger and better than ever, combined with the national Shop Small Business Saturday and Downtown Wilmington’s annual window decorating contest.

More than 50 illuminated floats will make their way down Main Street this year to kick off the start of the Christmas season. Floats will launch from the Clinton County Fairgrounds Saturday evening and arrive downtown at approximately 7:25 p.m.

Event Chair Robyn Danku is thrilled with the community’s response.

“The 11th annual HomeTown HoliDazzle Parade is the result of many dedicated volunteers, including the efforts of Main Street Wilmington,” she said. “But it’s our generous sponsors who make the parade and downtown events possible.”

HoliDazzle is presented this year by AZEK TimberTech. ATSG is the Parade Sponsor with the Wilmington News Journal as City Stage Sponsor. Bane-Welker Equipment is the Children’s Activities Sponsor.

Other local companies who stepped forward with generous donations are include American Equipment Services, Bennett Realty, JD Equipment, New Sabina Industries, Peelle Law Offices, Rent 2 Own, SFM Insurance and Wilmington Savings Bank.

Prior to the parade, there is a lot to do and see — plan to spend the day in downtown Wilmington and enjoy all the family fun for kids of all ages and downtown merchant specials.
