Music with local flair set for Murphy Saturday

WILMINGTON — The Bellowing Pines and the Allen Talbott Trio will bring their unique sounds featuring local connections to perform at 7:30 p.m. this Saturday, Feb. 10 at the Murphy Theatre.

The Bellowing Pines out of Cincinnati feature recent Wilmington High School graduates Brooke Helterbrant and Xavier Trout. They are a 6-piece band “combining musical inspirations from rock, soul and funk music. Four vocalists float atop arrangements that are driven by two guitars, bass, drums and the occasional flute.”

Helterbrant, the group’s lead singer and flutist, described her experience with the group as dreamy and surreal.

“It’s pretty crazy,” said Helterbrant. “We’re really excited to play and I hope a lot of people come out. ”

The band also includes Trout, his sister Paige, Evan Gemmer, Jack Teegarden, and Scotty Roberson.

Well-known local musician Rob Stuckert is the bass player for the Allen Talbott trio, a fairly new band which is making its Wilmington debut on Saturday.

The trio consists of Stuckert, Cincinnati-based musician Allen Talbott on guitar and drummer Daniel Peterson of Krystal Peterson & the Queen City Band. Their band plays rock and blues music with elements of funk and reggae.

Stuckert has played on the Murphy’s stage before and considers it a great honor every time he plays.
