SOESC seeks substitute teachers

The Southern Ohio Educational Service Center is currently hiring individuals with college degrees, but not necessarily teaching degrees, to work as substitute teachers for schools in Clinton, Fayette and Highland counties.

Qualified candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in any area and are required to be fingerprinted before entering a classroom. The SOESC provides fingerprinting services in their Wilmington and Hillsboro offices. Approved candidates are also required to attend a substitute teacher orientation and interview prior to placement in the classroom.

MC Sports open house, grand opening

Join the Wilmington-Clinton County Chamber of Commerce for an open house and grand opening celebration for the new MC Sports. The ribbon-cutting ceremony will be at 8 a.m. Friday, Nov. 6 with the grand opening taking place beginning Thursday, Nov. 5 through Sunday, Nov. 8. MC Sports is located at 1639 Rombach Ave., Wilmington.

The grand opening features many sales on select items, as well as a free gift to the first 100 customers each day. There will also be drawings for $50, $100, and $250 gift cards.

Rep from state at Blan Chamber meeting

The Blanchester Area Chamber of Commerce is celebrating 60 years at their annual dinner meeting Tuesday, Nov. 10 at 6:30 p.m. at Blanchester High School.

Chamber president Lisa Beach said Tyler Yaple, Legislative Fellow at Ohio Legislative Service Commission with the office of Ohio Rep. Cliff Rosenberger, will be attending and will present certificates from the state to our award winners and to the chamber for 60 years. Award winners include Businessman of the Year, Tony Falgner; Businesswoman of the Year, Dr. Catherine LaRuffa; Citizen of the Year, Susan Jacobs; and Chamber Choice Award winner, Chester Wilson.
