WILMINGTON — There will be lots to see, do and taste 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, May 5 at the Clinton County Farmers Market Day at the Municipal Building, 69 N. South St.

Chef Jaime Carmody from the Cincinnati-based Out of Thyme Personal Chef Service will be sharing recipes and providing samples.

The theme of the recipes will be “What do you do with all the veggies you pick up at the market? Seasonal produce and how to make it taste great.” Some of those she will be sharing are Summer Squash Salad with Fresh Lemon, Corn Tomato Salad with Cumin Chicken, Gazpacho, and Zucchini Fritters.

Chef Carmody graduated with honors from the Scottsdale Culinary Institute and is one of a few Personal Certified Executives Chefs in the country. She opened the Out of Thyme Kitchen Studio in 2005 located on Montgomery Road.

Her knowledge of foods and favors, combined with her energetic personality and creative techniques, has made her a guest favorite at cooking schools around the region.

HealthSource of Wilmington is sponsoring her appearance.

For kids and moms

Also, Kids Corner will be crafting cards for Mother’s Day. Each child will have the opportunity to make a card for their Mom or special lady in their lives as well as purchase a special item for mom from the vendors such as birthstone charms, caramels, cookies, scones, fresh greens, or even doggie treats and more.

Market vendors will be offering seasonal produce, meats, farm fresh eggs, homemade baked goods and candy, herbs, dog/cat treats, handmade jewelry, locally made pottery, and other artisan crafts.

Customers are invited to have a fresh cup of coffee provided by Kava Haus using “Fertile Grounds” locally roasted beans.
