WILMINGTON — There are two recipients in the inaugural year of “The L CPL Mark E. Huff Scholarship” at Wilmington High School.

The L CPL Mark E. Huff Scholarship was created in memoriam of Mark E. Huff, an alumnus of WHS. Mark was an amazing son, brother and a great friend to many people. Mark loved and cared for his family and his country so much that he enlisted into the United States Marine Corps after he graduated from high school, stated an informational sheet regarding the scholarship.

“He demonstrated leadership on the field, mats, and on the track. He always wanted to put everyone’s needs before his own; therefore, his family would like to offer this scholarship in his honor,” adds the flyer.

The first recipients are Heather Marie Fryman who will attend Capital University, and Brady John Bergefurd who will attend The Ohio State University.
