Blan alumni hold annual banquet

BLANCHESTER — The Blanchester Alumni Association held its annual reunion dinner on Saturday evening, May 26 at the Blanchester High School with 155 guests present.

McCoy’s Catering served a delicious dinner and the Blanchester American Legion posted the colors.

Patty Williams led the National Anthem and the Blanchester Boy Scouts helped with many aspects of serving our alumni.

The Alumni Association honored the 50th year graduates from the class of 1968.

They will continue to celebrate on Sept. 15 with a class picnic at McCoy’s Catering Banquet Hall at 1130 Gurneyville Road, Wilmington. Doors will open at 2:30 p.m. with a buffet dinner at 5 p.m. Contact Kay Stegall or check the Blanchester Alumni Facebook page for more information.

Dwayne Dearth was elected President of the Alumni Association and Ellen (Binkley) Hill was elected Secretary.

The Class of 1978 will celebrate their 40th Class Reunion this fall during the weekend of Sept. 21-21 Please contact Ellen Binkley Hill or check the Blanchester Alumni Facebook page for more information.

The next alumni dinner will be on Saturday, May 25, 2019.

Several items were donated to the alumni silent auction. The feature item was a handmade guitar donated by Thomas Bray, member of the Class of 1981. Mel Stein was the winner of the guitar, which he plans to give to a family member.
