Families Belong Together march Saturday

WILMINGTON — The Clinton County Alliance for Compassion and Truth (A.C.T.) will sponsor a public Families Belong Together march this Saturday, June 30 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.

The event will begin at the Clinton County Courthouse, and participants of all ages are welcome.

The local march, one of scores planned this weekend in cities and towns across the United States, including in Lafayette Park, across from the White House, in Washington D.C., is a response to the family separation and detention policy of the Trump Administration and its delay in reunifying those separated children and parents.

Clinton County A.C.T., organized in late 2016, is a women-led, non-partisan group committed to compassion and truth as fundamental values of American democracy, and dedicated to positive social change through group/peer support, information sharing, and organizing for political action.

Major national sponsors of Families Belong Together are The Leadership Conference, the National Domestic Workers Alliance, Move On, and the American Civil Liberties Union. Other sponsors and additional information can be found at familiesbelongtogether.org.
